Hourly Manufacturing or Warehouse Jobs

With the rise in popularity of quick shipping times and convenient online deliveries, warehouses have become more necessary than ever. As a result, warehouses are ubiquitous today and employ many types of professionals within the warehousing industry. These workers fill the manufacturing or warehouse jobs necessary for making quick and easy deliveries possible and act in physical labor positions that generally require physical fitness and agility. Therefore, carrying out proper warehouse staffing procedures is vital to finding qualified workers that can successfully support warehouse operations. Read on to learn more about hourly manufacturing positions and warehouse jobs.

Common Manufacturing Positions

Within the warehouse and manufacturing sectors are various available employment positions. The following are just a few examples of the industrial jobs and roles that a worker may possess within the manufacturing industry:

Assembly Line Worker

Assembly line workers help with the manufacturing process. They work in mass production assembly lines in a factory or warehouse production floor. Additionally, assembly line workers assemble the products their employer company produces for customers. They may also be tasked with managing inventory within the workspace. These workers should be able to use the tools necessary to complete their assigned tasks. Additionally, assembly line workers must uphold occupational safety and health practices to ensure safety for themselves and the other worksite staff members.

According to Payscale.com, the medium hourly salary for assembly line workers in 2022 is $14.63.

Production Staff

The production staff includes workforce team members who work on the production line and conduct manufacturing work. They are responsible for helping production occur regularly as planned by maintaining operations and checking the quality of the products throughout each stage of its manufacturing. These individuals are also tasked with handling the production site machinery, storing materials and products within the warehouse, and assembling packages for shipping. Packers are members of the production staff who prepare products for packaging and shipment. Production staff members should be able to use lifting equipment and forklift trucks to carry out production and manufacturing processes. Production staff candidates should be able to carry out repetitive and continuous tasks and have optimal teamwork and safety skills.

According to Payscale.com, the medium hourly salary for production staff members in 2022 is $14.30.

Other

Of course, there are various other manufacturing or warehouse jobs in addition to assembly line workers and production staff members. For example, hospitality staff members may also be hired within warehouse and production environments to perform cleaning and related tasks. Unlike in other hospitality jobs, cleaners within the warehouse manufacturing space will need to be able to clean large environments and equipment used within the production process during their shifts. General labor positions may also fall within the assembly line or production work. General laborers can take on tasks and responsibilities that are less specific than those held by assembly line workers or production staff members. General laborers working within warehouse and production environments are generally responsible for completing tasks within the workplace as assigned by the managers or supervisors on duty during their shifts.
